Admittedly, we live in a generation in which multi-tasking and instant gratification seem to be a norm. Almost everything is available at the tips of our fingers. With everything so fast-paced, it is easy to get consumed by the raised expectations, busyness, and so much content. These feeds into feelings of discontent, disappointments, and stress.
This is the environment and culture that our kids are growing in. And so, it’s important for us parents to teach to them how to pause and be mindful.
We have been injecting gratitude practices into our routine. It’s a simple discussion of what we are thankful for during breakfast and our nightly prayer time.
By focusing on the blessings, we are able to appreciate the people and things that we would normally take for granted. By being grateful, we feed our mind, body, and soul with positivity that we hope will impact other as well.
P.S.
I am grateful card is one of beautifully illustrated and mindfully written cards from the Be Mindful with Tala and Koko from @mylittlesmarts.
